Incubation Hub - FREE Child Criminal and Sexual Exploitation Awareness Training

The Children's Society, on behalf of the VRU, are hosting a half day workshop for our local CVS to increase knowledge and awareness of child criminal exploitation and child sexual exploitation

About the Event

We anticipate this training will be of great use to local organisations working to prevent youth violence and exploitation.

ITINERARY AS FOLLOWS:

Child Exploitation definitions with examples to include:

  • CSA/E (sexual exploitation/FGM/Coerced Internal Concealment)
  • CCE (gangs/drugs - note, we will discuss the problematic use of the term gangs)
  • CFE (financial)
  • Exploitation in Digital Contexts

Awareness of children and young people and the risks assocatiated with little or no engagement with peers or professional (more activity based):

  • Grooming Model
  • Isolated CYPs, via grooming, life circumstance, bullying, etc (tough on foundations of professional curiosity)
  • Who/what act as Protective Factors (contextual safeguarding themes)
  • Our Perception of what a CYP sees as a Protective Factor (touch on fuondations of professional curiosity and linking with the grooming model)
  • How victim-blaming language impacts how we are seen to CYPs and how they interact with us (share our appropraite language guide)
  • Risk factors (touch on foundations of professional curiosity)
