Communities Unite works with adults and young people to support them in realising their full potential.
They have a vision to do this by diverting them away from crime, raising aspirations, building self-esteem and empowering the people attending the project to strive for excellence.
Under their project, Changing Pathways, Communities Unite provides mentoring support for young people and young adults most at risk of involvement in serious violence incorporating sports to enable them make better life choices. This is done through sports based activities like gym and football with embedded counselling.
In light of the current situation, contact with young people has gone ahead by phone and email, but gym and sports activities cannot begin yet. Referrals have increased during the lockdown period.
